In order to study abroad in Cyprus, non-EU nationals must first apply for both a student visa and a temporary residency permit. You can arrive and stay in Cyprus legally for up to 90 days if you have a student visa. After arriving, you must have your visa changed into a temporary residence permit if your course of study will take more than 90 days. A student visa is not necessary for EU nationals or residents of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland. If they plan to stay more than three months, they will need a residency permit. You must pay an additional €70 for a residence permit, and it usually takes three months to hear back.
